Katie & Donnie were such a wonderfully fun and energetic couple to work with. You could tell they were truly each others best friend and that they were completely in love. Every time they looked at each other there was a grin that went from ear to ear. The best part about our time with Katie & Donnie was how competitive they were with each other, and they always had little games to see who was the best. They love pushing each other to make one another strive to be better than the day before.

Once we arrived at the Hilton Downtown to begin the photos of Katie getting ready, we could see that she was glowing with anticipation of the day to come. The dress she picked from Faccios was absolutely gorgeous and fit her personality perfectly.

When we first met Katie & Donnie, they brought along their Wedding Coordinator D’Lisa Reynard. Not only did she do the coordinating for this awesome event, but she also created all of the Flower Arrangements, Bouquets, and Boutonnières as well. D’Lisa truly outdid herself and brought Katie & Donnie’s dream wedding to reality and then some.

Donnie who is a Titans player, had a spectacular groom’s cake made for him by Nashville’s finest, Maples Cakes. It seems fitting that it was of the Titans Stadium, and as soon as Donnie saw it you could tell it was exactly what he wanted. Everyone who laid their eyes upon this cake could not believe how incredible this edible piece of art was, and they were sure to get a piece for themselves before it was all gone. - Super Delicious by the way!

Lighting for the evening was provided by Nashville Event Lighting, and it was truly a show stopper. So wonderfully done, it transformed the Parthenon from something we see every day into something you will only see once in a lifetime.

Ashley is creative. Her creativity shows in her music. She plays guitar, sings and writes music. I also shows in everything she does, even her wedding dress. She didn’t plan on getting wedding dress that was a little different, but when she tried it on she knew it was hers. The dress is a lot like her full of energy and life. We think she is a joy to photograph.

Her creativity also shows in her choice of a wedding location. She chose beautiful Cedarwood for her wedding and reception location. This is one of our favorite wedding locations. They offer the beautiful grounds to their brides for Bridal Portraits. Sometimes they are taken months before the wedding sometimes like Ashley, only a few weeks ahead. Bridal portraits are mostly a southern thing, but the rest of the country is catching on to this tradition. Ashley isn’t a Southerner by birth, however she is full of southern charm. She said she chose this location for many reasons such as they offered a package that covered almost everything she needed including cake, music, food flowers, and decorations. She loved how nice everyone was to work with. Ashley also said, ” the red barn reminded reminded me of my family farm.”

Ashley and her brother were very close. He passed away a few years ago and Ashley had a button made with a photo of them together to wear on her bouquet for her bridal photos and on her wedding day. Weddings always “mush me out” (ok Doug is even worse than me about the crying), but this a touching reminder of how important families are especially on wedding days.
We are really looking forward to Ashley and Chad’s wedding day in September. WOW it is almost September. Where has the summer gone. Thankfully it still looks like summer with all the flowers in bloom at Cedarwood so we know it will be a special day.
